Part 2 or a commission for (worgun-tyre) of his lion character Woorg(I hope I spelled that right this time!). This is a closeup of the lion.
I will admit, of the two characters, the lion was the bigger challenge for me, surprising really since lions are my favorite critters. Still the mane drove me insane for a good week and well is still driving me insane! Please no critique, I already know where the mistakes are and I do well to give myself a hard enough time .
Though the character was a challenge, I rather enjoyed creating him. I perceived him in holding a sort of depth, a wisdom that spanned the ages, a very proud lion. So I hope he sort of conveys those thoughts. Now again, creating such a scene from scratch is not altogether easy, especially in rendering lighting on not onlky his mane but face.
I hope you like it Jason!
(also if anyone out there has had experience with painting manes in ps and has some tips for me, do tell!)
I think you slipped up on the anatomy, but you already know that so just punch me now
But putting that aside, your shading, lighting and other effects are absolutely great, you have improved so much Im almost proud of you for reasons I can't think off .
I love these drawings that you've been doing, they are sooo nice. Lovin' the style.
There is one thing I keep noticing but you've marked critique discouraged so..
The reason is because usually I find at least one rude comment and that is enough to keep me from drawing for a good few weeks. I really don't want to be put down. Most people don't seem to know the difference between constructive criticism and just plain insult. I welcome people to give me constructive criticism as long as it is presented in a polite manner and actually gives me something to go on! Its not a matter of "im smarter than all of you and know better" I know I have a ways to go before I perfect my techniques but like a lot of artists I can be sensitive and be hurt by rude comments.

Oh that most definately sucks..I could say 'just ignore it' but I know its harder than that.
I did just want to say um, you keep in mind the angles of everything on the face.. in woorg and destiny, the left side of pic muzzle seems to be too low..
Blagh how do I explain..ok pic. excuse my butchering and inability to properly point out the angles but..yea, the features of the face[and anything else] should line up, be parallel to each other inside of ..not. [link] Wow Im so good at explaining ~_~;
The soft colors floored me! I love it. I even like the way his mane is coming along--it's not photorealistic, but it's interesting and kind of stylized. Awesome.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
