Was inspired by some macro photographs of eyes here on DA, anyone that has known me for even 5 minutes knows I have an odd fascination with eyes. The idea for this is more clear in my head and didn't quite turn out as I had hoped in pencil. BUT when I have more time I hope to do a color vision, that hopefully lives up to the mental image I have.
Oh and yes, tis Balaa pictured in the sketch, thus the odd markings. The idea for the colored version is something along the lines of a secret garden blooming within the eye(a crown of clovers), thus the presence of the butterflies....The eyes seem so small in relation to the size of our bodies as a whole..and yet to me, there is so much beauty, so much depth and wisdom within the eyes...you can read the story of life within the blooms of the eyes. Tools: Oc for concept, mechanical pencil (.3, .5, and .7mm) on smooth Bristol Size: 7x9" Time: ? really not sure, divided it over the span of several days between working on commissions and such Prints: 8x10 8$ US plus shipping. Wow, that is absolutely beautiful. Just looking at the small fur detail makes my hands ache. Definite fave.

-- "A penny for your thoughts." "You have no pennies, Matthew." >>valve rpg<< The details in the fur.. is just mesmersizing. So is the eye. Y know, I was so caught up in the overall prettyness of the details, I didn't realize it was a tiger.. until I scrolled down. But then I got a spazz fit, because I just loved the bottom part, too. The nose, and the whiskers are total love. < 33 -- This link. Is VERY crucial. Click.. and I'll be able to love you foreverrr. < 333 [link] |
