I haven't been able to start big projects of late for some odd reason, the ideas are constantly hitting me but everytime I sit down to draw nothing seems to come out right..which is horribly frustrating. So I have taken up to doing whatever random idea strikes me first. This is the result of a sleepless morning.

I was flipping through a book of the world's animals and got stuck on the amphibian section, chiefly frogs..and even more specifically poison frogs. I always thought they were gorgeous but it amazed me just how poisonous they were said to be. I am just awed by the amazing brilliant colors nature assigned the species that inhabit this world and that sometimes those that are most boldly colored, however small and harmless looking can be horribly poisonous. This was the idea behind this. The basic structure of the cat is based on the Jaguarundi cat which inhabits some parts of southern North America and a good portion of South America. The coloring is adopted from some variety of the poison dart frog.

PS: Yeah there are errors in anatomy and such but it wasn't intended to be perfect just a form of venting my frustration..
