Artist's Comments

Well I've decided to try and get back into traditional media art more. I used to work almost exlusively in acrylic paint but since getting my tablet..well...let's just say I have a secret lover in my life...that is apparantly not so secret ;). Well I actually had a rough start getting back into painting, especially on illustration board. I forgot completely how the surface interacts with the paint and just how tricky it can be to balance the amount of water to have on the brush so you have just enough but not too much.

This is my second piece, the first is too big for the scanner and I can't get good photos of it.

technical details:
Acrylic and colored pencil on illustration board
size: roughly 8"x10"
time: 6 hours or so.

Sidenote: this may or may not be placed in the art show at FC, I don't know yet how attached I am to it!

I like this as much as your digital pieces. BTW: where do you find illustration board in stores...or is it only through the internet. I have been thinking of switching from canvas to something else because canvas is so...well...hard to work with and you can't make long strokes. I got masonite...is that what you mean? Anyway, I like this little fellow...awesome lemur job.
