Artist's Comments

The culmination of last months work. I ended up having to take several breaks from the piece just to get my mind refocused seeing as it turned out to be a rather huge project. I guessed it would be but not to this extent ;). I don't, however, regret taking on this project as I learned quite a bit along the way, which really in the end is far more valuable than any amount of money. I would also like to give a very special thank you to the commissioner :iconwrgun-tyre: (Worgun-Tyre) for not only his confidence in my skill as an artist but also his patience and kind words along the way! You have made the process nothing less of a joy! You will always hold priority if you ever want another commission in the future for you have been a very pleasant person in all my dealings with you! Again thank you :).

Now for the details on the piece itself. The background was a struggle seeing as I had never done much architecture, especially egyptian collumns. But again I learned quite a bit. I realize they could be a little less uniform but in all honesty I simply did not have the energy to do 4 seperate columns! Again the lighting was a struggle since I did not have any reference to go from, so mostly it was just trial and error until it looked somewhat like I pictured it! I am rather proud of the skills I learned during the creation of this piece of work so for that reason I am discouraging critique. This piece could likely do with a few improvements, but if that was the case most of my pieces...if not all..would never reach the stage of being called a final product!

The title is a very simple play on words. Egyptian pride, pride in the typical meaning of the word as well as the double meaning of "lion pride" signifying the pair is family/mates.

There ya have it, hope you like.
